The UAE celebrates Mother’s Day on the 21st of March. With the COVID – 19 taking the spotlight this year, we were not able to celebrate this special day with all our amazing mothers, but you can still celebrate Mother’s Day with your family at home.
It is very important to recognise that you, as a mother, are a hard-working individual, who takes care of your home, family and community. Being a mum is a full-time job, and we know that most of you are building your careers at the same time!
Here are some thoughts and activities we would like you to explore this Mother’s Day!
Pamper time
You deserve some treat time. Set aside some time to pamper yourself! Grab a book, plan a home spa day or even watch your favourite film.
Enjoy family time
Prepare some of your favourite dishes to celebrate Mother’s Day with your loved ones. Additionally, you can share homemade treats with your mummy club to remind them that they are special.
Create a time capsule
Celebrate Mother’s Day at home as you continue to practice social distancing. Sit down as a family and write what you would like to do for the day, next year. You can help your children write down their ideas or draw it. Seal the ideas in a container and leave it unopened until 2021! It will be a treat to open up the container next year and see what you wrote. Make sure that you fulfil some, if not all, of those ideas!
Start that project
This Mother’s Day set aside some time to kick start the projects that you have been delaying for the longest time! Create family scrapbooks, family albums or even arrange your junk drawer!
Letters to Mum
Ask your family to write a letter to you. Your younger children can draw pictures. Stick their words and artworks up on the fridge, notice board or place them in your family scrapbook. This will be a great way to remind you how special you are!
These are uncertain times, but one thing we can guarantee will stand the test of time is how important you are to your family.
