Early Years Foundation Stage

Early Years
Foundation Stage

We follow the UK’s Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum and pride ourselves in nurturing each child’s abilities and interests in order to prepare them for the next phase of their primary education. In recognising that every child is unique and learns in different ways, our programme has been structured to carefully cultivate intellect, artistic expression and social skills. Covering the educational needs of all children, the framework enables your child to learn new skills and knowledge, and allows them to demonstrate their understanding through the 7 areas of learning and development.

In the Early Years, we Focus on Building the Foundation of your Child’s Education in Seven Essential Areas:

Communication and Language Development

Baby Care Classes

We encourage exploration and investigation through play in our home-away-from-home environment. With mirrors, treasure baskets, soft plush toys and sensory play, we provide plenty of opportunities for sensorial exploration at our centres. Our baby classes feature playful interactions including songs and rhymes, as well as physical experiences such as tummy time, bouncing, rolling, rocking and splashing.

Toddlers Classes

Fostering independence is a priority which we achieve through offering diverse play-based experiences including sensory play, construction, role play, and physical activities. Our daily routine involves stories, songs, and circle times to enhance social skills, language development, and listening abilities. Recognising each child’s unique needs, we customise activities to suit their developmental stage, providing the right balance of challenge and support.

Early Learning Classes

Our focus remains on play-based learning, where language skills flourish through storytelling, singing, and conversations, promoting confident self-expression. Motor skills are developed through engaging activities including painting, drawing, playdough, puzzles, and construction. Through group play, we encourage sharing and collaboration to create a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere. Additionally, early numeracy and literacy concepts are introduced through enjoyable play experiences, making learning a joyful journey.

Foundation Stage Classes

The goal in our FS classes is to prepare children for their transition to school. We do this through supporting development of their self-confidence, independence, social skills and academic abilities. In our FS classes, children engage in a wide range of activities that cover all areas of learning and development. Children are encouraged to explore and make connections, building a strong foundation for future learning.
